Overview

supertran three-phase pad-mounted transformers are engineered with a singular focus: helping customers buy with confidence and execute projects smoothly - from PO to commissioning.

From design through delivery, each unit is built for reliable performance and long service life in demanding environments. Our designs prioritize thermal efficiency, mechanical strength, and electrical reliability, with a minimum K-4 rating.

To strengthen long-term reliability and project confidence, supertran specifies 120°C or 140°C thermal class insulation rather than the ANSI base standard of 105°C. This higher thermal class supports cooler operation, higher ambient tolerance, and greater continuous loading - well suited for solar generation, motor-driven loads, data centers, and other demanding applications. Combined with robust design and fluid options such as FR3, these choices help extend transformer life, improve overload capability, and reduce customer risk - so power is dependable and project delivery stays on track.

K Rating Information To Consider

According to IEEE C57.110
  • Computer Data Centers K Factor should be between 3.5 – 4.
  • UPS Systems K Factor should be between 3.0 – 3.8.
  • Fluorescent Lighting should be between 2.0 – 2.5.
According to IEC 60076-7
  • Variable Frequency Drives should be between 4.0 – 5.5.
  • Arc Furnaces should be between 5.0 – 6.5.
  • Industrial Drives should be between 4.0 – 5.0.

K9 is commonly used for 6 pulse drives.

The values shown above are for quick reference. We are available to help determine the appropriate K Rating based on your loads and system configuration. Additional K rating results in improved efficiency in most cases.
