Global 1200 pipelaying vessel was grounded by intermittent Voltage events!
This Work-boat, new & unable to do a day’s work, because of outages & exploding Circuit Breakers, was grounded by the Coast Guard.
The 690V UN-GROUNDED DELTA power system was unstable, when at sea.
By installing Phaseback VSGR, the problems were corrected and the vessel was made operational. This chart shows the Phase Voltages during 30 days of operation, with VSGR. The motor loads powered by a 5500kVA transformer, now work well, without faults.
The cause of the catastrophic events was also located & corrected once VSGR was installed.
